Layerform stands behind the quality, function, and workmanship of the products we create.
Unless a product page states otherwise, new Layerform products purchased directly from Layerform Collective are covered by a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for six (6) months from the date of purchase.
This warranty is provided to the original purchaser and applies when the product is used, installed, cleaned, and maintained according to its intended purpose and any instructions supplied with the product.
What This Warranty Covers
The Layerform Limited Warranty covers verified defects in materials or workmanship that affect the normal appearance, assembly, fit, or function of the product.
Examples may include:
- A manufactured component that arrives cracked, incomplete, or malformed
- A component that fails prematurely during normal intended use
- Hardware supplied by Layerform that is missing or defective
- Parts that do not fit or assemble as intended
- A manufacturing defect that prevents the product from functioning as described
- An included electrical component that fails during normal use, subject to the limitations below
- A product that differs materially from the item or configuration ordered
Each claim is evaluated individually. Photographs, video, measurements, or additional information may be requested to help identify the cause of the issue.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Minor surface texture, layer lines, seams, or variations inherent to the manufacturing process
- Slight color differences caused by lighting, screen settings, material batches, or manufacturing runs
- Damage caused by dropping, impact, crushing, misuse, abuse, or improper handling
- Damage caused by incorrect assembly or installation
- Damage caused by using the wrong hardware, power supply, bulb, battery, light source, or accessory
- Damage caused by excessive heat, open flame, hot cookware, parked vehicles, heaters, or prolonged direct sunlight
- Damage caused by moisture, weather, freezing temperatures, or outdoor exposure when the product is not specifically identified for outdoor use
- Damage caused by abrasive cleaners, solvents, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, or other prohibited cleaning methods
- Unauthorized repairs, alterations, modifications, or disassembly
- Products used outside their stated purpose, capacity, or environmental limits
- Damage caused by mounting surfaces, customer-supplied hardware, or improper anchoring
- Cosmetic changes that do not affect the intended function of the product
- Consumable components such as batteries, bulbs, adhesives, or other parts expected to wear or require periodic replacement
- Customer-supplied components
- Products purchased from an unauthorized reseller
- Products identified as prototypes, samples, clearance items, or sold “as-is”
- Loss, theft, or accidental disposal
A natural characteristic of a material or manufacturing process is not considered a defect unless it materially affects the product’s intended function or falls outside Layerform’s normal quality standard.
Electrical Components
Electrical components included with a Layerform product are covered when they are supplied by Layerform and used according to the product instructions.
Coverage does not apply when failure results from:
- An incorrect or incompatible power source
- Voltage outside the product’s stated requirements
- Water or moisture exposure
- Altered wiring
- Damaged connectors
- Excessive heat
- Unauthorized repairs
- Use with incompatible bulbs, controllers, batteries, or accessories
If an electrical product produces unusual heat, odor, smoke, sparks, flickering, exposed wiring, or other signs of damage, disconnect it immediately and stop using it.
Shipping Damage
Shipping damage is handled separately from the product warranty.
If an order arrives damaged:
- Contact Layerform as soon as possible.
- Keep the product, shipping carton, inserts, and packaging.
-
Provide photographs of:
- The damaged product
- The exterior shipping box
- The internal packaging
- The shipping label
- Include the order number and a description of the damage.
Do not discard the item or packaging until Layerform has completed its review. Shipping carriers may require photographs or inspection before a claim can be resolved.
Warranty Remedies
After reviewing an approved claim, Layerform may provide one or more of the following remedies:
- Troubleshooting assistance
- Replacement hardware
- A replacement component
- A repaired component or product
- A replacement product
- Store credit
- A partial refund
- A full refund when repair or replacement is not practical
Layerform determines the appropriate remedy based on the nature of the defect, product availability, repairability, cost, and age of the product.
Whenever practical, we will replace only the affected component rather than disposing of the complete product.
A replacement part or product may have minor differences in color, texture, material, or internal construction if the original version is no longer available.
How to Submit a Warranty Claim
To request warranty service, contact Layerform and provide:
- Your full name
- Order number
- Product name
- Approximate delivery date
- Description of the problem
- Clear photographs of the complete product
- Close-up photographs of the affected area
- Video demonstrating the issue when function or movement is involved
- Photographs of the packaging when shipping damage is suspected
Layerform may request additional information, measurements, troubleshooting steps, or return of the affected component.
Do not ship a product back without receiving return instructions. Unauthorized returns may be refused or delayed.
Replacement Shipping
For an approved warranty claim within the United States, Layerform will generally cover standard shipping for the approved replacement part or product.
Expedited shipping, international duties, taxes, brokerage fees, installation costs, removal costs, or third-party labor are not covered unless Layerform agrees to them in writing.
Custom and Personalized Products
Custom and personalized products remain covered against verified defects in materials and workmanship.
However, the warranty does not cover:
- Customer-approved spelling, dates, images, colors, dimensions, or configurations
- Low-resolution customer-provided images
- Design decisions approved through a proof
- A change in customer preference after production begins
- Fit issues caused by inaccurate customer-provided measurements
- Customer-requested modifications that perform differently from the standard product after those limitations were disclosed
Warranty Limitations
This limited warranty provides specific remedies for eligible Layerform products. It does not replace any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
To the extent permitted by law, Layerform is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use or inability to use a product.
No person or reseller may modify this warranty unless the change is provided in writing by Layerform Collective.
Our Serviceability Commitment
Layerform believes quality products should be repairable whenever practical.
Even when a product is outside its warranty period, replacement components or repair assistance may still be available. Contact us with the product name, order information, and photographs, and we will determine what options are available.
